Many people believe that pit bulls are dangerous dogs, but this is only due to the terrible treatment they have received over many years where they are used as fighting dogs. However, once they receive love and proper training, these dogs show their true and loving personality and are even capable of becoming a rabbit’s best friend.
This pair lives with their owners in the town of Erie in Pennsylvania, United States.
This was the case of a cute pit bull named Grace who was saved after going through a really tough first few months of life. Luckily, she was able to be rescued and even found a forever home with Mindy Hayes.
Grace’s first owners trained her as a fighting dog and then left her tied to a tree.
Mindy is a true animal lover, so in addition to having several dogs she decided to bring a rabbit and welcome him to the family. Her main concern was that the rabbit would get along with all of her dogs, especially Grace; But she could never have imagined that this curious pair would become the best friends in the world.
“It was an instant connection. “They smelled each other and from there their friendship blossomed.”
They became inseparable. Now the bunny named Sophie couldn’t go anywhere in the house without her faithful friend wanting to accompany her. Grace seems to care a lot about her and show a protective instinct towards her when she follows her anywhere. They always play and cuddle with each other and even love to take naps together on the couch.
“I can’t separate them. “Grace always follows Sophie around and kisses her on the head.”
Like dogs, rabbits are very sociable animals, but rarely have we seen a friendship as strong and beautiful as the one Grace and Sophie have managed to establish. Despite Grace’s tough past, she is still a dog with a huge heart and willing to care for and pamper her new best friend.
Currently, Sophie is 11 months old and Grace is already 2 years old.
Many people have been truly surprised by the wonderful connection of this couple and it has made many people reflect on the true nature of pit bull dogs.
Sophie is expected to grow much larger, since she is a breed of rabbit known as the Flanders Giant.
We celebrate this beautiful friendship and hope that Grace and Sophie can make the most of their time together.
We invite you to share this note to raise awareness about how loving pit bulls like Grace can be.
