There is very little we know about Anchoa’s tough past, but there is one thing that is certain: he is a very brave furry boy who has managed to overcome the endless obstacles that come his way in life.
Anchoa began its life in the streets . Some kind-hearted humans took him into their care when he was very little, but as the days went by they began to notice that he would need much more help than expected .
Before he was two months old, his condition became so serious that veterinarians were forced to amputate his four legs and the end of his tail.
“We cannot go into many details of what happened. Everything is under complaint and lawyers,” clarified Martha Jalón, the owner of Anchoa.
The odds for a dog with the sad fate of Anchoa are usually not encouraging at all. Most shelters or veterinarians would make the decision to simply euthanize him because of the enormous cost of treatment .
Luckily, the beautiful Anchoa has found a loving family that is determined to fight for him . Two years have passed and this furry boy does nothing but leave everyone speechless with his strength and determination.
“You’re going to run, you’re going to play, you won’t need anyone to guide you. Whatever it costs me, you are going to be happy ,” Martha promised Anchoa.
Anchoa gets along wonderfully with his dog brothers, but he felt very sad to see that he couldn’t walk or play like them. For a time, Martha carried him everywhere, but she began to consult with several specialists to find an option that would make the dog’s life much more comfortable.
Prostheses are a very expensive solution and Anchoa will need several throughout her life. In addition to that, he must receive constant therapy sessions and special treatments that help him grow healthy and strong.
“Prostheses are not for life. They wear out and become small. You have to change them like shoes,” Martha explained.
Having a dog as special as Anchoa requires a lot of expenses . This brave fighter needs at least one set of 4 prostheses per year, rehabilitation, food, pain medicine and many other things that can add up to 5,000 euros per year.
“Right now I can’t afford any expenses. I don’t just have Anchovy… I have 5 animals at home, each one with its own problem. I don’t like asking but this is a call for help ,” Martha said.
Fortunately, many people have been inspired by the joy of this sweet little dog and have decided to help him through his GoFundMe page .
In the midst of so many difficulties, this beautiful dog in boots has given infinite love to his owner and to all those who have helped him .
