Thousands of people are concerned about certain photos posted on social media. The images depict an unexplained creature lurking by the roadside.

The photographs were taken during the night, in the area of the Jicarilla reservation.

According to the story, a geologist employed in an oil field in the area discovered something bizarre.

He wanted to take a picture of it and make a heat signature of it. The geologist abruptly resigned the next day.

“Seriously freaking out”, “yikes… I’m driving through there tomorrow”, and “Skinwalker!” were among the messages on social media.

The term “Skinwalker” applies to a Native American folktale. Tony Hillerman, the writer, brought it to life.

A skinwalker, according to tradition, is anyone who has the magical power to transform into any animal and move on all fours.

Countless encounters have occurred, but few people can talk of them for fear of being attacked again.

The photographs have now been removed by the New Mexican who originally uploaded them. She claims she has no idea where it came from.
