Domestic animals, like dogs, are animals dependent on humans and in most cases defenseless. But there are heartless people who use their energy to hurt them, even though they can be great friends and companions;  That is why it is difficult for us to understand or accept reasons why someone might be cruel to an animal. Fortunately, there are people who dedicate their free time to reversing the damage that others do every day.

People like Audra Petraškienė, a resident of a small town in Lithuania, who do not hesitate to stop to help an animal in danger.

She was driving when she saw a little dog on the side of the road that was shaking and completely wet. Audra stopped her car and approached to look at the reasons why the little dog was motionless in that place, what she had to see was worse than she had ever imagined.

The little dog with black and white fur had a heavy device tied to its neck that seemed to serve the function of an anchor.

It was evident that someone had put this device on him and left him in the water with the aim of drowning him. Just thinking about what the little dog who somehow managed to drag the anchor to the road, saving her own life, had to go through  made Audra unable to stop crying .

She grabbed the poor, terrified puppy, cleaned him up, and took him to a vet for the necessary checkups.

Despite having been completely wet and not knowing how long he had been in those conditions, the veterinarian after examining him determined that the puppy was in perfect health.

Audra, however, continued to be disturbed by the situation and decided to make a police report.

In addition, he published the event on his social networks, looking for someone who could provide him with a little information. She added photos of the little dog who turned out to be very noble and kind, which made her feel even more outraged.

The publication went viral and shortly after, someone who claimed to be the owner of the dog contacted with concern.

“The person who claimed to be the owner seemed to be a good person and loved the dog,” Audra said.

However, she decided to leave him in an animal shelter, while the case is investigated, since it is unknown who was responsible for such a terrible act and if his owner could have done something to prevent that from happening.

Having a pet is not a game and the person in charge of taking care of it must do so responsibly.

We hope that the investigations reach the bottom of what happened and that this adorable dog returns to its owner, if everything was the work of a third person. If not, we are sure that the shelter will find him a home where he will be valued and never have to go through something like this again.
