Fans have reacted to McLaren doing the two fastest pitstops at the Mexican Grand Prix.
The McLaren F1 team had a strong outing at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez Circuit where its drivers scored double points for the team.
Moreover, this was not the only good thing that came out for them from the Mexican GP, with double points, the papaya-colored team also managed to pull off the two fastest pit stops of the whole season.
One of those pitstops was done in under 2 seconds, 1.98 to be exact. Since this information has come out to the public, fans have taken up to Twitter and applauded the team on their brilliant job.
F1 fans are well aware of the importance of pitstops during Grand Prix weekends and thus have not shied away from praising the Woking-based team and have congratulated them.
What makes their pitstops noteworthy, is the fact that one of the pitstops was done in under 2 seconds, which is an incredibly difficult thing to do with the new generation cars.
McLaren is only 7 points behind Alpine in the Constructors Championship
The McLaren and Alpine tussle, for the fourth spot in the Constructors Championship, has gone on throughout the 2022 campaign, and with only two races left in the season, the Britsh outfit is just 7 points behind the French giants.
As things stand, McLaren has got 146 points to its name, whereas Alpine, on the other hand, is currently sitting in P4 with 153 points.
It is the common belief in the paddock that, Alpine has got a better package compared to McLaren this year, but despite this fact, they haven’t been able to stretch their advantage in P4 because of the reliability issues of the A522.
Considering that Alpine has got gremlins on its car, which seem to pop up during Grand Prix weekends every now and then, Mclaren can keep taking advantage of this in the coming races and make their way up to P4.
However, it is not going to be an easy task, as if, the A522 works well during the remaining two races, it would be extremely difficult for Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris to get the better of the prolific duo of Ocon and Alonso.
