Susan Prior found a gold wedding ring caught around a fish with scuba diving off Norfolk Island, Australia, near the sight where a bloke said he had lost his a few weeks earlier.

A snorkeler was stunned to find a wedding ring worth £1,000 while diving off the coast of Norfolk Island, Australia.

Avid scuba diver and blogger, Susan Prior found a gold wedding ring that had become lodged around a fishes neck while out enjoying the underwater scenery.

But sadly, it isn’t the first ᴛι̇ɱe Susan has had to help fish out because they become trapped in rings.

Posting to her Instagram, she said: “Yesterday I saw one of the two mullet that have rings around them. These fish snuffle through the sand to get their food.

“A ring will flip easily over their heads. These two guys have been like this for some ᴛι̇ɱe now. The first photo was taken yesterday, the other one in February.”

In the comments, her followers pointed out that the ring looked distinctively gold and one woɱaп asked who had put out an appeal for a missing wedding ring in January.

The snorkeler replied to say it was someone called Nathan Reeves.

Elaborating on her blog she said; I recalled that someone had posted on our local community social media pages about a large ɱaп’s wedding ring that had gone missing in the bay earlier this year.

“I decided to see if I could find the possible owner. It didn’t take long for my suspicion to be confirmed; we now have a poor mullet weighed down with someone’s (expensive) gold wedding ring.

However, she was unable to return the ring since she couldn’t catch up to the fish.
